WHAT'S NEW AT PEOC IN 2020?                                 MOVING FORWARD...

Entering the 2020 camp season, PEOC has made multiple changes to the camp format and structure.  Nearly every aspect of the camp experience has been upgraded, improved, and enhanced this season.

At the completion of each PEOC camp over the past seven seasons, "Feedback Forms" have been collected from all participants. This season, PEOC focused on the topics that were most often mentioned to enhance and improve each participant's experience at all camp levels this summer.

PEOC strives to create a new, exciting experience for both first-time and returning participants in 2020.

NEW! USA HOCKEY SEMINAR CREDIT

PEOC and USA Hockey, Inc. are proud to announce a continued agreement which will permit officials attending PEOC in 2020 to earn seminar credit for both new and returning Level 3 and Level 4 USA Hockey registered officials for the 2020-2021 hockey season.

NEW!  ENHANCED CAMP STRUCTURE

At the request of many past camp participants, PEOC has altered the structure of each camp weekend in 2020. The "Youth Development Camp" and "Advanced Camp" have been replaced with the "Junior Camp" and "Senior Camp". These camps continue as a Friday through Sunday afternoon events. The Senior Camp expands to start Friday morning and end on Sunday afternoon.

The "Prospect Showcase Camp" and been replaced with the "Prospect Combine" with a new, improved setup - a Thursday morning through Saturday night event. This allows for a full travel day to return home and recuperate, both mentally and physically, on Sunday.

NEW! ADDITIONAL REAL-GAME EXPERIENCE

PEOC is proud to again partner with local organizations to allow camp participants to officiate additional games while attending camp this season.

The Junior Camp participants will officiate U10 - U12 games, the Senior Camp participants will officiate U16 - U18 games, and Prospect Combine participants will officiate a Varsity/Tier I showcase tournament.

NEW! IMPROVED VIDEO REVIEW

PEOC has invested in new video technology to allow participants to review their on-ice sessions and game situations with the staff. In 2020, the PEOC Staff will be equipped with multiple tablets and video review capabilities not available in prior seasons.

NEW!  DISCOUNTED HOST HOTEL RATES

(OPTIONAL)

PEOC participants will continue to have the option of including a reduced hotel cost to their camp registration fee. This allows PEOC participants traveling to the Pittsburgh area for the camp(s) to purchase a hotel room at a reduced rate and be paired with another participant for the camp weekend and avoid the worry and hassle of finding hotel accommodations individually.

Participants utilizing this option will also receive a free hot breakfast each morning at the participating PEOC host hotel.

NEW!  IMPROVED ON-ICE EXPERIENCE

All PEOC participants will see a revamped on-ice experience during each camp weekend. From enhanced on-ice modules and referee and linesman specific drills, new power skating sessions, improved officiating experiences with high level games to officiate - each PEOC participant will benefit from the time on their skates in front of the PEOC Instruction Staff and camp guests.

NEW!  MAXIMUM PARTICIPANT ENROLLMENT

In 2020, PEOC will strictly limit the number of participants permitted to register for each camp. This new structure will allow for more personalized interactions for camp participants off the ice with PEOC Instructors and Guests - and will maximize the time on-ice to work in front of officiating administrators who attend PEOC from throughout North America.

NEW!  CLASSROOM "WORKSHOPS"

PEOC participants will see a drastic change in the classroom experience. To avoid a long, drawn-out classroom session, PEOC will continue the 30-minute maximum "Workshops". These "Workshops" will allow participants to be fully focused on each topic being presented and will avoid the discomfort of over-extended classroom sessions. The 30-minute maximum also allows to many topics to be covered throughout the camp weekend.
